Slug's to Host First Two Rounds of NCAA's!

Dear Slug Fans,

Right around the corner, the men of slug tennis will be embarking on the first stage of their NCAA championship run. May Madness, Division III tennis at its finest, will be on display on our very own UCSC slug tennis courts.

Friday, May 13th, at 10AM, the UCSC men's tennis team, currently ranked 4 in the nation, will be facing one of the toughest first round opponents, Pomona-Pitzer, currently ranked 7 in the nation.

The winner of this match up will face the winner between Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and University of Texas at Tyler. That 2nd round match will be the round of 16, and will be played on Saturday, May 14th, at 12pm. CMS is currently ranked 3 in the nation and will most likely be the next team to defeat.

Earlier in the season, the UCSC slugs defeated the Pomona-Pitzer sagehens 6-3 in a wonderful match.

Come out and support our boys as we look to move on to the final site of the NCAA tournament! For more specific information on this great event please visit the tournament Web site at: http://www.goslugs.com/teams/tennis/men/championships/2011tennisregionals/mten11_regionals.html

Thanks, and go slugs!
